In a flat world...

In a flat world, it is inexcusable not to have a clear idea of world politics and history. Ofcourse its a daunting task. Uninteresting for most. But its importance cannot be over emphasised.

In a flat world, it is inexcusable not to have a clear idea of global economics and how it affects your country. Past present and future. Money moves nations. 'I-work-you-pay' isnt applicable anymore. The machinations at work must be improved and worked upon.

In a flat world, it is inexcusable not to have a clear idea about the planet and how we affect it. Current and potential. Consequently how we affect our country. The individual action is forever bound to the lone starfish and however helpful to that one starfish, it is merely a step and no more than that to ensure a well functioning whole. In a age where war over ideologies is not the domain of fiction anymore, only a conscious united effort can steer this planet to a safer future.

In a flat world, it is inexcusable not to have a clear idea about the emotionally charged habitat that we live in. In an overpopulated country struggling over boundries and inequalities, every man is in the line of fire. Innocents die and people find themselves crippled under the global disease which sucks the life out of you while your alive, the disease called depression. Compassion for the individual is of paramount importance to ensure dignity of the individual.

In a flat world, it is inexcusable not to have a clear idea about the cultural contexts that we live in, steeped as much in psychology as in anthropology. Brought together by technology, society is becoming an institution with a dynamic entity. Melting pot of cultures. Hence its imperitive we understand how the world looks at us.

....( i could go on)

We know what's right, each of us. I do too. And I often find myself wondering why others cannot see the things that I can so clearly. I wonder, with frustration, why they cannot conform to my own belief structure - surely, it is one that has the best interests of the world at heart.

Then again, it takes all kinds to make a world. A frog in the well existence spells certain doom.

Those who believe in the flat world and still keep themselves adequately rounded came to the steps of the Asiatic Society on Sunday the 14th at 6PM....kudos to you all!!
